Jane Fonda Reveals She Had Cancer Removed From Her Lip

The 80-year-old actress assured fans that she's going to be fine.

Jane Fonda is on the mend.

The 80-year-old actress revealed on Monday that she had a cancerous growth removed from her lower lip. Fonda addressed her bandages during a BUILD Series appearance to promote Grace and Frankie.

"I just want to explain the bandage,” she shared. “I just had a cancer taken from my lip. I thought it was going to heal in time before I came before you, but it’s fine. I just want to explain it. I don’t normally go around like this.”

Fonda further explained her condition during a later interview with Howard Stern.

"Hey listen, the world is falling apart, what’s a lip,” she joked," confirming that the growth was in her lip. “Yeah, they did [biopsy it.] I’m going to be fine, thanks.”

Fonda couldn't have looked happier -- or healthier -- while celebrating her 80th birthday in December, with a star-studded "Eight Decades of Jane" fundraiser event in Atlanta, Georgia. ET sat down with the actress ahead of her milestone birthday, where she revealed that she's in the midst of her "favorite" time of her life.

"I am happy, I'm healthy, I have great friends, my family is OK and my loins are girded for action," she said.

"I have a mantra but I don't know how to answer that, it's just day-to-day," Fonda added, when asked if there's a "secret sauce" to staying fabulous all these years. "I have had to stay balanced, centered, healthy, I have good friends and I am blessed to have a steady job on Grace and Frankie and my health -- it is important to have your health."
