Right before Season 3 of Zoey 101 ended, Jamie Lynn announced she was pregnant with her first child. Although speculation began that Nickelodeon canceled the show due to her pregnancy, the series was already scheduled to end after its fourth season.

"I think when I wrapped Zoey there were all these plans of things like, 'Let’s go do movies.' I was reading scripts for things I was excited about."

"But like a lot of young girls, I thought I was in love. And there I am, pregnant at 16. I was so concerned about bringing another human being into this world, but I needed to figure out who I was."

Jamie Lynn's firstborn daughter, Maddie Brianne Aldridge, is now 15 years old. Jamie Lynn also welcomed a second daughter, 5-year-old Ivey Joan Watson, with her husband, Jamie Watson.

Jamie Lynn admitted the press wasn't particularly "nice" to her while reporting on her pregnancy, so she wanted to separate herself from it as quickly as possible.

"So I got a house in Mississippi. I put up a gate, put myself on a budget and said, 'I’m gonna raise my baby back here.' And that’s what I did for a while."

"But I also wanted to show her that I could provide for her future and that I could continue on to be what I wanted to be. Bringing her into my life was not something that I regret or held me back."

And as for those scripts she mentioned earlier, one of them just happened to be Twilight. Although she auditioned, Jamie Lynn admitted she didn't think a movie about vampires would be successful.

"I did read for Twilight," she said. "This was before vampires had really made their mark. Now we all love to watch stories about vampires, but I literally was like, 'Vampires? Are you kidding me?'"

Well, she might've missed out on Twilight, but that didn't stop Jamie Lynn from returning to the small screen. She currently stars in the hit Netflix series Sweet Magnolias (Season 3 is out now), and she'll be premiering Zoey 102 on July 27.
