  • Fans couldn’t get over how much she looked like her mom, actress Janet Leigh, in the shot.

If you follow Jamie Lee Curtis on Instagram, you know she takes Throwback Thursday (#tbt) very seriously. The actress rarely misses an opportunity to share a beloved photo from her past, and this week’s was a real gem. She posted a black-and-white portrait taken by photographer Greg Gorman in which she wore a sheer black dress and a voluminous pixie wig (or what appears to be one).

“A little #tbt of a fun day of make believe with @greggormanphoto,” she captioned the post. Fans and followers adored the gorgeous shot, and multiple people pointed out her striking resemblance to her late mom, Janet Leigh.

“You look so much like your Mama!!😍” one person commented. “Wow! You look so much like your mom in this pic!” another added. “You look like your Mama!!! Gorgeous!” someone else wrote.

Leigh was an accomplished actress whose best-known role was Marion Crane in the 1960 thriller Psycho. She and Curtis even appeared in two horror films together—The Fog and Halloween H20: 20 Years Later. Leigh died in 2004 at age 77 after a year-long battle with vasculitis (the blood vessel-constricting autoimmune disorder that Ashton Kutcher recently suffered from).

In the years since Leigh’s passing, Curtis has looked back at her parents kindly, while also remembering her difficult upbringing and the love story they had. In a January post, she shared a photo of them, admitting that their divorce—and the dozen others in her immediate family—caused her to struggle “with the idea of love.”

“Once in a while when their images find me unexpectedly, I’m caught by not only their extreme beauty but their deep love and ambition,” she wrote. “There are only a couple reminders to me that I was born from love and not resentment, competition, jealousy and rancor which are the cornerstones of any unpleasant divorce. I also forget that they were famous and loved worldwide. Happy hump day Janet and Tony. Thanks for love and life!”

Yet again, Curtis imparts some wisdom in the limited space of an Instagram caption. We can’t wait to see what she posts next.
