'Dinner Party Diaries with José Andrés,' which also stars O’Shea Jackson Jr., airs March 19 on Prime Video

Chef José Andrés doesn't throw your average dinner party.

In the new Prime Video special, Dinner Party Diaries with José Andrés, the James Beard award-winning chef, 54, invites Jamie Lee Curtis, Bryan Cranston and O'Shea Jackson Jr. over for dinner. As seen in the trailer, shared exclusively with PEOPLE, preparations get a little wild from the start.

"Here's what I brought you since knives are part of my life," Curtis, 65, tells Andrés as she presents her host with a set of cooking knives. (Curtis starred in the hit movie Knives Out in 2019.)

Meanwhile, Cranston, 67, diligently (and loudly) follows the chef's instructions on how they're cooking a live lobster and potatoes. "I love it here," laughs Jackson, 33.

In the trailer, Andrés also shares his philosophy on a successful dinner party. "The important thing is that you have fun, you cook, and you spend quality time with your friends," says the World Central Kitchen (WCK) founder as his party guests raise their glasses in a toast.

Per a press release, the 30-minute special will demonstrate how viewers can embrace imperfection in the kitchen — just as Andrés often does. The chef and his actor friends will share stories as they cook approachable recipes inspired by Andrés's native Spain.

"The special celebrates the joy of cooking together and how food is a source of hope," states the press release. This is the same message behind Andrés' non-profit WCK, founded by the chef in 2010 to help provide food to people in crisis around the world.

Andrés recently returned to the U.S. after a trip to Gaza to deliver food and medicine via airdrop amid the war in the area. A team of chefs from WCK remain in the region to continue serving people who need food.

Dinner Party Diaries with José Andrés premieres on March 19 on Prime Video and Freevee.
