Jamie Foxx is reportedly taking a step back to rethink proposing to his girlfriend Alyce Huckstepp, as sources say their romance is "fizzling out." They've been close since his health scare last year, but now that he's recovering, Foxx is prioritizing work again and is unsure about committing fully to Huckstepp.

The change in Foxx's stance comes after his inner circle shared worries that he was moving too fast in his romance with Huckstepp. They also allegedly claimed that the actor hasn't seemed himself since the health scare, which Foxx has promised to open up about in an upcoming stand-up comedy special.

Foxx is rethinking his decision to propose to girlfriend Alyce Huckstepp as he recovers from his health scare last year.

Sources revealed to the National Enquirer (via Radar Online) that Foxx's romance with Huckstepp has been "fizzling out" as the actor returns to working on film projects and resumes his workaholic nature.

The insider said, "She was totally there for him when he got sick, and they got very close after that. But things are starting to fizzle out on Jamie's end. She's still in the picture, and they see each other occasionally — but not to the same degree they were."

Foxx and Huckstepp were first linked about two years ago but it's unclear exactly when their romance started. Their relationship eventually got serious shortly after the "Ray" actor's health scare in April 2023, and the romance grew quickly between them.

Foxx resumed acting after his health scare last year, starting with the action comedy film Back in Action, in which he stars opposite Cameron Diaz.

The source told the publication, "He's grateful to be alive — but he's preoccupied with getting his career back on track. It's odd to see him so sedate when he used to be such a womanizer. There's a part of Jamie that's sad about that, but he just can't do it anymore."

According to the insider, Foxx is also a retired womanizer. However, despite the change in Foxx's stance, the "Django Unchained" actor is still unsure about committing to marrying Huckstepp.

They added, "He's back to making work his number-one priority again!"

According to previous sources, Foxx's close circle had worries that he and Huckstepp were moving too fast. They shared how his perspective on marriage changed after the medical issue, which triggered him to consider buying a ring and proposing to the Australian fitness model.

The source said, "Nearly dying has really woken him up to his own mortality. Now he's very aware it could all end in an instant." Foxx's decision to take romance more seriously concerned his friends, who worried it was a mistake.

"He's started saying he wants to settle down. It's freaking out everyone in his life," the tipster noted. "They're worried he's going to marry Alyce just because she's the one he happens to be with now."

Foxx's aversion to marriage is a sentiment he's held for many years, which was the issue that allegedly caused his 2019 split from Katie Holmes after a six-year relationship.

"Now he's gung-ho about making Alyce his wife and people think he's being impetuous," the source stated. They also shared that Foxx actually hasn't seemed like his normal self since his huge medical scare.

In early March, Foxx attended the 7th Annual AAFCA Special Achievement Awards, where he received the AAFCA's Producers Award for his company, Foxxhole Productions. During his acceptance speech, Foxx reflected on the life lessons he'd learned since the health scare.

He said, "I'm so thankful and I get emotional because it's beyond the scope. I had some people in my life that really made sure I was here because it was dire straits."

The Oscar winner also told the audience there to "Cherish life" deeply and appreciate their loved ones.

He added, "Everybody wants to know what happened, and I'm gonna tell you what happened, but I got to do it in my way." Foxx also noted that he'll finally reveal the details about his health scare in an upcoming stand-up comedy special.

A source told People Magazine that the Academy Award-winning actor is "doing incredibly well" as he prepares for his return to the show "Beat Shazam" and other projects.

"He is so busy and back to doing what he loves," the insider told the news outlet, adding, "Jamie didn't skip a beat on 'Beat Shazam.' He was literally right back to his old self. Really on it!"

Last year, in April, Foxx had to take a step back from several projects while he was hospitalized for an undisclosed illness.

According to a second source, Foxx "is super busy, happy, and strong" since being discharged from a rehab facility last year.

"He is gung ho work now, living clean and enjoying his good health," the source claimed.

They added, "Jamie is a social guy, he likes to be around his friends, he has to be busy doing all kinds of different things. He is a bonafide entrepreneur with new projects bubbling all of the time."
