James Van Der Beek's Daughter Olivia Makes Public Singing Debut as Her Family Cheers Her on from the Audience

James Van Der Beek's daughter Olivia is taking after her father!

On Friday, April 12, the actor's oldest daughter, 13, performed publicly for the first time, singing three songs at The Kindness Campaign's The Act of Kindness Gala at the Line Hotel in Austin, Texas. Olivia sang "Walking on Sunshine," "A Million Dreams," and "Can't Help Falling Love," as her family cheered her on from the audience.

Wearing a bright blue dress, the teenager was photographed as she confidently took the stage, wearing her hair long and loose and accessorizing with a necklace.

Van Der Beek was captured cuddling with daughter Gwendolyn, 5, as they watched Olivia perform, sitting together at a table.

In February, Olivia appeared on FOX's We Are Family to sing a duet with her dad, marking the first time she ever sang in front of a crowd. Following the premise of the show, Olivia began to sing a song on stage while her dad was behind a curtain, prompting the audience and the judges to try to guess her celebrity relative.

Van Der Beek shared a video on his Instagram after the episode aired, taking his viewers behind the scenes of filming the show. The proud dad gave a tour of his daughter's dressing room and posted footage of her singing on stage, including photos of the two from the special experience.

In September, the Dawson's Creek alum celebrated Olivia's 13th birthday with a special tribute on his Instagram.

"Cannot BELIEVE it’s been 13 years… It feels like yesterday I was staring into your little bassinet in the hospital, beyond exhausted, but unable to close my eyes and stop looking at you - and realizing I’d never be able to communicate just how cool it was to have a little you," he wrote.

"Humbled and honored to be your dad. And I’ll always be your #1 fan," he wrote later in the post. "Happy birthday, my TEENAGER 😳❤️."
