James Franco Is Up to Something... Just Like Zack Morris
If there’s one thing we know all too well, it’s that James Franco is always up to something. But, today, whatever that something is going to be certainly has our attention. After all, Franco as Zack Morris from Saved by the Bell isn’t an image we see every day.
The comedy started fairly mysteriously, with Franco sharing the below image on Instagram, asking fans to help him with a project. “What are your all time favorite TV shows? Im gonna remake em!” he promised. “Tell me (on video is better) the shows you want to see created! And your favorite scenes from the shows. Use the tag: #tvshowsforjames.”
Fans responded in droves, making suggestions from the obvious — Freaks and Geeks, guys? You can do better — to the decidedly less so, like Reading Rainbow and Doctor Who’s “Don’t Blink” episode. Golden Girls, Friends, and Boy Meets World received more than a few requests. But credit is due to the clever @theeclecticcompany, who was quick on the trigger to inspire the star with a Saved by the Bell post.
“Get ready!” Franco teased Sunday alongside a snap of himself in a big blond wig and perfectly stonewashed jeans. His pals are dressed to perfect imperfection as Screech and Slater. “This SHIZZ is CUMMIN’! The new show #savedbythebell.”
What this “shizz” will ultimately become still remains to be seen, but we have to say we love starting our week with treats like this one. Of course, that also reminds us of Jimmy Fallon’s recent Saved by the Bell moment, which you can revisit right here:
