James Corden, Kristen Bell Duet While Attached to World’s Worst Pulley System (Video)

Someone’s getting fired at “The Late Late Show.”

James Corden invited Kristen Bell to perform a duet with him on Tuesday night, when the two should have performed a beautiful rendition of “Up Where We Belong.” It didn’t quite work out the way he planned.

The CBS host had a great idea: For the “Love Lift Us Up” part of the classic “Officer and a Gentleman” tune, Corden’s stagehands were supposed to pulley the two actors into the air together. Epic fail, as the kids say.

“That was an absolute disaster! Who is responsible for this?” Corden scolded his staff at the end of the segment. “We rehearsed it and rehearsed it and rehearsed it!”
