Veteran James Bond actor George Lazenby is recuperating at home following a fall last month.

A spokesperson for Lazenby confirmed in writing to PEOPLE that “[Lazenby] injured his head in conjunction with the accidental fall at his home but luckily the scar from that is healing as expected (the stitches was just removed) so all good.”

The rep also added, “George is a spritely 84-year-old,” and, correcting some reporting of the incident, he added: “George doesn’t have, or have got, a brain injury of any kind.”

After an accidental fall at home in November leading to a head injury he's rehabilitated well thanks to the great team at Beverly West Healthcare for which I, his family and friends are grateful for.”

And offering an insight into Lazenby’s condition he added, “Not easy getting older but as a spritely 84-year old, George has certainly demonstrated what a fighter he is. Love and only love.”

In the image, a smiling Lazenby is pictured propped up in bed in his California home as Frejdh sits alongside him. Pictures that look to have been drawn by children decorate his bedroom walls with one reading “Happy Father’s Day.”

Lazenby was flooded with well-wishes from fans following Frejdh’s post. British model Jodie Kidd, 45, also commented, “There he is ❤️ thank you Anders for looking after my godpa 😍 xxxx.”

Australian actor Lazenby played the title role in the 1969 Bond movie On Her Majesty's Secret Service. Only starring in one movie makes Lazenby the shortest-serving Bond actor in history. He was preceded as Bond by Sean Connery and succeeded by Roger Moore.
