When we look at celebrities, especially those who are good at hiding their feelings and problems from people, we are quick to assume that they have it all under control. This is why some people will never be able to comprehend that a rich celebrity who has everything that he or she wants could still be unhappy. Aside from the fame and wealth that they are exposed to, these celebrities are just normal people who go through certain life issues that sometimes get to them.
Instead of hiding their feelings, celebrities are encouraged to speak out on whatever it is that is troubling them so that they can get help or simply feel relieved. There have been several occasions where celebrities took to their social media pages to reveal to their fans the bad experiences they have experienced in the past or are still experiencing. This gesture ha helped a lot of people move on from the dark places they often pictured themselves and help them to see a light at the end of the tunnel.
Topping the list of celebrities who decided to share this week, is 'The Good Place' actress, Jameela Jamil. The 33-year-old recently took to her Instagram page to share her ordeal at a party which resulted in her leaving about ten minutes after she arrived. For many years now, Jamil has been an open book to her fans and followers on Instagram. She has taken them through the journey of her health problems and mental health issues. So, it is not surprising that she decided to share this event with them too.
The actress who was speaking out on World Mental Health Day revealed that she struggled with identity problems, as she always thought that she was too fat. She went on to say that she declined going to the 2009 London Fashion Week, because she was scared that people will shame her and the thought made her uncomfortable. However, she decided to go for the event, but could only stay for ten minutes and then, she left.
The actress also revealed that after this, she struggled with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and almost tried to take her life one time.
Due to the fact that Jamil struggled to come to terms with her physical look, the actress became a strong advocate for 'body neutrality.' She then created a website and called it 'I Weigh.' The actress is not a fan of celebrities who advise people to go ahead and use weight loss supplements and she has been open about her opinion many times.
