Jameela Jamil Calls Out Khloé Kardashian for Promoting Weight Loss Products Again
Whenever a Kardashian promotes a weight-loss product on her Instagram feed, this celebrity is ready to clap back. On Wednesday, body acceptance advocate Jameela Jamil slammed Khloé Kardashian for promoting weight loss products a second time, explaining the dangers of Flat Tummy Co. “meal replacement” shakes in a long comment that she left on one of Kardashian’s posts about the product. This also isn’t the first time Jamil has called out Kardashian for promoting dangerous weight-loss regimens to her 89.7 million Instagram followers.
Kardashian posted a sponsored selfie on Wednesday captioned, “Loving how my tummy looks right now you guys! I brought @flattummyco’s meal replacement shakes into my routine about 2 weeks ago, and the progress is undeniable.” This isn’t the first time Kardashian has posted an ad for Flat Tummy Co. As a social media influencer, she earns at least $480,000 per sponsored post, according to a report from UK-based social media planner website, Hopper.

Jamil wasn’t having it. She commented, “If you’re too irresponsible to: a) own up to the fact that you have a personal trainer, nutritionist, probable chef, and a surgeon to achieve your aesthetic, rather than this laxative product… And b) tell [your followers] the side effects of this NON-FDA approved product, that most doctors are saying aren’t healthy. Side effects such as: Possible Flat Tummy Tea side effects are cramping, stomach pains, diarrhea and dehydration… Then I guess I have to.”
She continued, “It’s incredibly awful that this industry bullied you until you became this fixated on your appearance. That’s the media’s fault. But now please don’t put that back into the world, and hurt other girls, the way you have been hurt. You’re a smart woman. Be smarter than this.”

As noted above, this isn’t the first time Jamil has commented on a weight-loss-centric post made by Kardashian. She has also criticized celebrities like rapper Cardi B for promoting Flat Tummy Co. products and spoken out against magazines using Photoshop to alter the appearance of models and celebrities to look thinner.
Additionally, Jamil launched the “I Weigh” movement in 2018 to encourage self-love in people of all genders, skin colors, abilities, ages and sizes. As an outspoken advocate for body positivity, this surely won’t be the last time Jamil speaks out against another celebrity promoting weight-loss products.
