Jambridge announces music lineup with California, Pittsburgh & Beaver County bands

AMBRIDGE ― Jambridge organizers announced the performers for year two of their eagerly awaited concert festival Sept. 23.

The lineup brings southern California vibes mixed with Pittsburgh-forged rock, blues, indie and Americana.

Two of the musical acts − The Wide Eyed Kids and Veni Sun − hail from San Diego.

As with last year's widely praised inaugural festival, Jambridge's concert area will be set up in the parking lot next to Merchant Coffee Co., near Fermata Brewing, in Ambridge. If the borough and a neighboring church agree, the stages might be shifted on a 90-degree angle from last year's layout, to accommodate a larger audience.

The music schedule:

10 a.m.: Paging Doctor Moon, indie-pop.

11 a.m.: Noa Jordan, indie-rock.

Noon: Good Brother Earl, rock and Americana.

1 p.m.: Turtle Park, grunge-pop.

2 p.m.: Nash.V.ILL, high-energy rock

3 p.m.: Norside Organ Trio featuring Steeltown Horns, blues, jazz, funk and rock.

4 p.m.: Bobby Thompson & The Groove, bluesy rock.

5:30 p.m.: The Wide Eyed Kids, reggae, dance, pop.

7 p.m.: The Low Kings, Celtic rock

8:30 p.m.: Veni Sun, SoCal pop-rock.

Confirmed food trucks include Cousins Maine Lobster, Bridge City Brinery, Crop & Kettle, Skyway Drivin' Ice Cream, the Steer & Wheel, Pita My Shawarma and Pittsburgh Tortas.

The festival slightly expanded its footprint on the street for art vendors. Again, there will be beer tents, with Fermata and Altered Genius Brewing of Ambridge both among beer vendors, with other breweries to be announced.

The 2023 Jambridge is largely inspired by all things old-school Southern California, where a couple of the festival partners visited in April, landing two of the bands.

"Good vibes and a chill great time" has been the theme since a week ago when Jambridge's Instagram page began teasing a video showing the Pacific Coast Highway with music from Veni Sun.

Last year's inaugural Jambridge earned accolades for its organization, community spirt and outstanding music by acts like the Abby Gross Sextet, Mean Blue Planets, Nash.V.Ill, and Bobby Thompson & The Groove joined by surprise guest Johnny Baab of Ghost Hounds.
