Jalen Ramsey reacts to being left off NFL.com’s All-Pro team

The NFL’s regular season has concluded, meaning media members and sites are rolling out their personal selections for end-of-season awards. The Associated Press’ All-Pro team that is announced every year is the ultimate achievement over the Pro Bowl, with the Pro Bowl losing its flare and being viewed as a popularity contest.

Ahead of the official All-Pro team selections by the Associated Press, NFL.com did its own rendition of the All-Pro team. And while Cooper Kupp and Aaron Donald made the list, Jalen Ramsey was displeased to see he was absent from being selected at one of the two cornerback spots, and at defensive back.

The two cornerbacks taken over Ramsey were Trevon Diggs and J.C. Jackson. Diggs led the NFL with 11 interceptions for the Dallas Cowboys, and he posted 21 pass breakups, so it’s not a surprise to see him being one of the cornerbacks selected by NFL.com.

Meanwhile, Jackson recorded eight interceptions and a league-best 23 pass breakups this season for the New England Patriots. Both Diggs and Jackson had remarkable seasons for their respective teams, but I believe Ramsey still has a legitimate reason to be upset with his absence from the NFL.com All-Pro team.

And to make matters worse, Rasul Douglas was picked over Ramsey at DB despite only playing 12 games and making nine starts for the Green Bay Packers.

Even though NFL.com didn’t name Ramsey to their All-Pro team, PFF didn’t hesitate to select the former first-round pick to theirs. If you were to ask executives and coaches around the league, they’d tell you that Ramsey is the most well-rounded cornerback in the NFL.

Ramsey is one of the rare cornerbacks that quarterbacks know not to target in the passing game. Despite quarterbacks avoiding him, Ramsey still snagged four interceptions (tying his career-high) and he broke up 16 passes this season.

After expressing his disapproval of NFL.com’s selections, Ramsey shared that he hopes the voters for the actual All-Pro team get it right.

There’s no doubt that Ramsey deserves to be selected to his third All-Pro team in the coming days. However, it remains to be seen if the voters agree with NFL.com, believing someone else is more deserving at the cornerback position.

Regardless of the outcome, we’ll be awaiting Ramsey’s response on Twitter.
