Jake Troth’s Playlist for Ignoring Dirty Dishes

With everyone sequestered and self-quarantining due to the coronavirus, we’ve asked our favorite artists to come up with playlists that keep you entertained. Here is producer/songwriter Jake Troth.

Here is a group of songs that move me in a positive direction.

“Melt With You” – Modern English
I love this song because it sounds like the perfect soundtrack for the world crumbling around two lovers as they choose not to notice. Very romantic.

“Making Time” – The Creation
Everything about this song is raw. It’s like when you wake up on the RIGHT side of the bed.

“Care of Cell 44″ – The Zombies
His voice is so reassuring and this song hits home in times of separation.

“Dumb” – Chachi
Great vibe from a new talent in NC. Chachi’s so cool it’s contagious.

“Swallowed” – Bush
This song is so sunny to me. I’ve been revisiting the things I loved in my childhood and Bush is near the top of the list. “WARM SUN” pops into my head often.

“The Queen” – Jake Troth
“The Queen” marks the moment one decides not to give up on love, no matter the cost.

“Corona” – Minutemen
BEFORE YOU SAY THIS BUMS YOU OUT, know that it’s the theme song to JACKASS, which makes me laugh just thinking about it.

“Cool” – Gwen Stefani
I love Gwen Stefani forever and ever. This is my favorite song she ever made and favorite music video. It’s so “up” that it pops me right back into shape when I’m feeling low.

“So Fresh, So Clean” – OutKast
Sleepy Brown, the vocalist on the hook & songwriter, told me he wrote this song in the shower. Now I record little idea I come up within the bathroom.

“I Won’t Back Down” – Tom Petty
Tom Petty is still alive.
