Jake Gyllenhaal and Sean Hayes Sing ‘A Whole New World’ at the 2016 Tony Awards
Jake Gyllenhaal and Sean Hayes took on some Disney karaoke at the 2016 Tony Awards. James Corden hosted the awards show in New York City on Sunday night and asked volunteers to come up onstage and do some impromptu singing during the commercial breaks. That’s when Sean and Jake did their best rendition of the Aladdin ballad “A Whole New World.”
Jake seemed to struggle with the lyrics as he read from the sheet music, and after they wrapped up their on-the-fly performance, Sean posted a video of the moment to Facebook.
“During commercial breaks at The Tony’s tonight, the amazingly brilliant James Corden started up a Broadway-themed ‘commercial karaoke,’” he wrote. “He asked for volunteers. Jake Gyllenhaal & I were happy to oblige with our rendition of ‘A Whole New World’ from ALADDIN.”
