Jaime King Comes Forward As Survivor Following Lady Gaga’s Oscar Performance: ‘Time To Be Brave’

Lady Gaga’s tremendously powerful Academy Award performance of “Til It Happens To You” encouraged sexual assault survivors to stand together — and not only onstage at the Dolby Theatre.

Model and actress Jaime King shared her own abuse story following the Oscars. “Now I am free, somewhat,” she wrote on Instagram. “Thank you for the switch that went off inside finally when I realized my silence said I cannot help nor change and that is not who I am.”

King also thanked Gaga on Twitter for “giving survivors a stage.” Gaga called King a “warrior leading the way.”
