Jai Hanuman Cast: KGF’s Yash to Play Lord Hanuman, Claim Reports

Teja Sajja’s HanuMan hit the big screens a month ago and has an outstanding box-office collection. While HanuMan is currently running in theaters, makers are gearing up for its next sequel, titled Jai Hanuman. Amidst this, reports are circulating that Rocking Star Yash will be expected to play the role of Lord Hanuman in the upcoming sequel.

Directed by Prasanth Varma, HanuMan was theatrically released on January 12, 2024, in multiple languages, including Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi. Produced under the banner of Primeshow Entertainment, it has gained a rating of 8.5/10 with around 17K votes on IMDb.

Talking about its box office collection, trade analyst Taran Adarsh to X shares the breakdown of the collection. He wrote, “HanuMan is 50 NOT OUT… HUGE ACHIEVEMENT indeed… Week 1: ₹ 22.92 cr Week 2: ₹ 16.67 cr Week 3: ₹ 6.47 cr Week 4: ₹ 3.68 cr Weekend 5: ₹ 1.02 cr Total: ₹ 50.76 cr #India biz. Note: #Hindi version. #Boxoffice [Weekend 5 day-wise data] Fri 15 lacs, Sat 37 lacs, Sun 50 lacs”. As per him, the film has made around $6.1 million in Hindi.

Yash to join Jai Hanuman in a lead role

While the netizens are speculating about the upcoming sequel to the Hanuman franchise, recent reports claimed that the Rocking Star Yash is the first choice to play the lead role of Lord Hanuman. Earlier reports suggest that the megastar Ram Charan will be seen in the role of Lord Rama. The actor has shown a glimpse of Lord Ram in Rajamouli’s film RRR.

Moreover, in the recent interview director Prashant Varma said, “There is some confusion in the Mumbai press over the casting of Bajrangbali Hanuman. Firstly, Teja Sajja played Hanumanth in HanuMan and he will play the same role in the sequel Jai Hanuman. Secondly, Lord Hanuman will also be a prominent part of the sequel. And yes, Yash is a very strong contender for the part. He was never considered for the first film. This is a false narrative flying around in the Mumbai media. But he is most likely to play Lord Hanuman in the sequel. Teja Sajja is not playing Lord Hanuman. He is playing Hanumanji’s bhakt Hanumanth”.

Reportedly, the pre-production of the upcoming sequel has already begun. It is expected to be released in 2025.
