Fans of Jada Pinkett Smith already know her mom, Adrienne Banfield-Norris, from her co-hosting duties on the Facebook Watch show Red Table Talk. But now the 66-year-old — who already has a loyal fanbase — might garner some followers looking for workout advice.

This week, in an Instagram photo, Banfield-Norris showed off her washboard abs, along with the caption, “Trying to motivate myself to get back in the gym. A good look in the mirror always does the trick!” Banfield-Norris is a regular exerciser, which she has credited with helping her get through drug addiction, as she told the New York Times in March.

Red Table Talk, which Banfield-Norris co-hosts with Pinkett Smith, 48, and granddaughter Willow, 19, is booming in popularity, breaking a record on Friday for Facebook’s most-viewed original episode in the first 24 hours.

In the controversial video titled “Jada Brings Herself to the Red Table,” Pinkett Smith and husband Will Smith, who have been married since 1997, addressed singer August Alsina’s confession in a June interview with radio host Angela Yee, that he’d been involved with Pinkett Smith when she and Will were temporarily separated about four years ago. A representative for Jada had previously told Page Six that the story was “absolutely not true!!”

But on Friday, the couple spoke candidly. “We decided we were going to separate for a period of time, and you go figure out how to make yourself happy, and I’ll figure out how to make myself happy,” said Will.

“It was a relationship, absolutely,” Pinkett Smith confirmed of her relationship with Alsina. She added, “Through that particular journey I learned so much about myself, and was able to confront a lot of emotional immaturity, emotional insecurity, and I was really able to do some really deep healing.”

Alsina was a guest on Red Table Talk in 2018, where he spoke about his experience with Percocet addiction and noted that Pinkett Smith was one of the reasons he decided to get clean. During that interview, Pinkett Smith also talked about her addiction to exercise. “I was just in the gym constantly,” she said.

In the Friday clip, Pinkett Smith said she doesn’t view her relationship with Alsina as a traditional affair. “I definitely understand why it would look that way or feel that way, but I actually don’t look at it as a transgression at all,” she said. “Through that particular journey, I learned so much about myself and was able to really confront a lot of emotional immaturity, emotional insecurity, and I was really able to do some really deep healing. And as I came through and started to realize certain things about you and I, he decided to break all communication with me, which was totally understandable. And I let that be and hadn’t talked to him since, so it is a little weird that all this stuff is coming out now.”
