Jada Pinkett Smith, an American actress and businesswoman, was born on September 18, 1971, to Rosbol Pinkett Jr and Adrienne Banfield-Jones. Her acting career kicked off in the early 90s and for a long time, she had been married to popular actor, Will Smith, whom she shares to children with. Before Smith and Pinkett's ship sailed, the actress has been involved with other men, one of which is the late talented rapper, Tupac Shakur. Shakur was the rapper's stage name, but his parents named him Lesane Parish Crooks.
Pinkett and Shakur met for the first time in the mid-80s as they were students at the Baltimore School for the Arts, located in Maryland. They were quick to relate with each other because they had a deep love for theatrical arts. According to the "Girls Trip" actress, Shakur introduced himself to her on the first day of High School, and though he looked funny, she was still drawn to him. She mentioned that as soon as they got talking, it seemed like she had known him all her life.
Moving on to the 90s, both Pinkett and Shakur became famous people in acting and hip hop music. Shakur joined a hip hop group known as "Digital Underground" but after a while, he ditched the group to go solo. In November 1991, Pinkett had her big break in movie career when she starred in "A Different World" which was a series owned by NBA. Subsequently, Shakur released his first album titled "2Pacalypse Now" in the same year. As they climbed the ladder of success, Pinkett and Shakur remained good friends and always kept in touch.
The actress also revealed that they tried to groom their relationship into a romantic one, but they soon found out that they cherished each other more as friends. Recently, the actress went down memory lane to talk about the relationship between her and the late rapper, which she termed 'complicated' She mentioned that as an adult, she understood better what transpired between her and the rapper. Although they had strong feelings for each other and cared for one another, they lacked physical chemistry, so it was hard to be in a romantic relationship.
In her story, Pinkett said that her friendship with the rapper started hitting the rocks when he went to prison for a rape charge, which he denied in 1995. She said that she told him her view on the path he had chosen, but he insisted that she had gone soft. In an episode of her show titled "Red Table Talk" Pinkett mentioned that she wished she had told the rapper how much she loved him before his untimely death. She became full of emotions when she mentioned that he should never have left her so soon. Tupac Shakur was shot four times in his car on his way back from an event, and later died in the hospital from internal bleeding on September 13, 1996. It has been twenty-threeyears since the legend passed away, but he still remains in our hearts.
