It’s never polite to ask anyone their religious preferences, but in Hollywood, the question remains: to Scientology or not to Scientology? Now, a bombshell interview claims Jada Pinkett Smith has recruited celebrities to the Church of Scientology. The accusations were made by Sam Domingo, the daughter of acclaimed opera singer Placido Domingo, in an interview with the Daily Mail. Domingo told the Daily Mail that she was a Scientologist for 22 years.

Domingo claimed that, when she first moved to Los Angeles to study Scientology, she’d regularly run into Pinkett Smith and Kelly Preston, wife of Scientology member John Travolta. “She [Jada] was charged with getting people into Scientology and I’m sure she’d be getting a commission for it. Jada was always around Celebrity Center, doing her own thing with Kelly Preston in the President’s Office. They were like the Stepford Wives of Scientology,” Domingo said.

Domingo says Pinkett Smith and husband Will Smith were heavy into the religion, with Will allegedly offering $1 million to start a Scientology school in Santa Monica which didn’t pan out. She also alleges that Pinkett Smith openly recruited other celebrities, including TV show creator Keenan Ivory Wayans. The couple, who almost didn’t get married 22 years ago, have always denied they’re part of the controversial. This contradicts the claims of other ex-Scientologists including Leah Remini, who said in a 2017 interview for The Daily Beast: “I know Jada’s in…She’s been in Scientology a long time. I never saw Will [Smith] there, but I saw Jada at the Celebrity Centre.”

Domingo says that if Pinkett Smith claims otherwise, it’s false. “We all knew both of them were Scientologists though. There was never any doubt amongst internal staff,” Domingo said. “They deny they’ve ever been in it — they lie.”
