Jackie Chan tells concerned fans that his recent 'old' appearance was for new movie role: 'Don't worry!'

The venerable action star celebrated his 70th birthday with throwback photos from his decades-long career, and some reassurance for anyone wondering about his health.

Don't let the viral photos fool you — Jackie Chan is feeling 70 years young.

The legendary action star marked his 70th birthday Sunday with an Instagram post showing off some throwback photos, taking a stroll down memory lane, and reassuring any fans worried about his health.

"Not so long ago, a lot of friends saw some recent photos of me on the internet, and they were all concerned about my health," Chan wrote in the caption. "I want to take this opportunity to let everyone know, don't worry! It's just a character appearance for my latest movie. The character requires me to have white hair, white beard and look old."

He continued: "Over the years, I've always been willing to try new things for a movie, no matter if it's a challenging stunt or a breakthrough appearance for a character. I've been in the entertainment business for 62 years and I cherish every moment because I'm lucky I'm still filming today."

Though Chan didn't offer further details about the role, fans in the comments have already been speculating that his wizened look could come into play as the martial arts legend reprises his role as Mr. Han in the next Karate Kid movie. The film, led by American Born Chinese star Ben Yang, will also bring back Ralph Macchio as Daniel LaRusso.

Elsewhere in his birthday post, which featured a carousel of photos from across his illustrious career, Chan expressed gratitude to still be doing what he loves.

"Even before today, many friends have been reminding me: 'Jackie, it's going to be your 70th birthday!'" he wrote. "Every time I hear this number, my heart would stop for a second — l'm 70 years old already? After recovering from the shock, the second thing that would come to my mind is a saying that my big brother, Sammo Hung once said: 'Being able to grow old is a fortunate thing.' Especially for us stunt people, we don't know how lucky we are to be able to grow old."

Explaining that he included the photos because they bring back "so many fond memories," Chan concluded, "All I can say is: I love making movies and I love you all. A big thank you to everyone for all your birthday wishes. Hope everyone stays happy and healthy!"

Among those celebrating Chan on his birthday was fellow Hollywood star Will Smith, who shared his own Instagram post reflecting on the time they spent together when Chan filmed the 2010 Karate Kid reboot with his son, Jaden Smith.

"In addition to making some of my FAVORITE movies of all time, creating some of the CRAZIEST moments that have ever been captured on film — I thank you most for helpin' to raise Jaden," Smith wrote. "Our time with you in Beijing during the Karate Kid left an eternal impact on our entire family. We wish you the deepest Love & Revelation on your next trip around the sun."
