Jack Whitehall recalls fear he had passed coronavirus to his 80-year-old father
Jack Whitehall has revealed his biggest fear after contracting coronavirus was that he had passed it on to his 80-year-old father.
The comedian – who stars with his former talent agent father Michael Whitehall in Netflix series Jack Whitehall: Travels with My Father – has revealed he contracted COVID-19 himself in the first week of lockdown.
His fears of having passed it to his father were sparked as he had recently visited his parents – shortly before he came down with symptoms.

Whitehall, 31, told the Radio Times: “We went over for dinner as the lockdown was just about to start. I have had Covid. I had it the first week of the lockdown.
“I had every symptom, the whole situation. I had it quite badly, and then the rest of the people in my household had it as well.
“At that point, I was absolutely ‘zero contact’. I had to be so careful, and was really careful not to leave the house, and to follow the guidelines in the right way.”

He went on: “It was a very scary couple of weeks, not wanting to hear him cough on the other end of the phone.
“I realise that a lot of people would have been going through that, and a lot of people are experiencing this right now, and how scared they must be. That feeling that you could give it to someone you love is totally overwhelming.”
The Bad Education star is living with his girlfriend, 28-year-old model Roxy Horner. The pair confirmed their relationship in a TikTok video they made public at the start of lockdown.
She previously dated singer Jake Bugg for two years, before they split in December 2019. She has also been linked to Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio and reality star Joey Essex.
Whitehall previously dated Crazy Rich Asians star Gemma Chan for six years until their split in September 2017. They met while starring together in E4 comedy Fresh Meat.
