The Bleachers frontman opened up about the wedding in a new interview on 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon'

Jack Antonoff is opening up about his and Margaret Qualley’s special day.

The Bleachers frontman, 39, appeared on as a guest and performer on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday and spoke to the talk show host about getting married to the actress, 29, back in August.

The record producer revealed that he thought the ceremony — attended by family and many famous friends like Taylor Swift, Lana Del Rey, Channing Tatum and Zoë Kravitz — was going to be a breeze until he found himself standing solo at the altar. “I had this idea — like, I perform, so I don’t care — I just want to be married to her. I don’t give a f---,” Antonoff said on the late night show.

“I perform, so I’m not one of these people … I don’t care, I can do anything, I don’t mind being here, I don’t mind being on stage — It doesn’t faze me too much,” he continued. “And then as soon as I walked up there, it was the ultimate — it was the most alone I’ve ever been in my life, in a way, because my bride hadn’t come out yet.”

The Grammy winner shared that he felt uncomfortable for a moment being by himself in the situation because he wasn’t able to be an entertainer and make any “bits.” He added, “It was the first time I was just frozen and it felt like 30 years of cynicism was exiting my body.”

Once Antonoff saw the Maid star, all anxieties fell away. The musician shared, “It was beautiful and it was every cliché, and I kind of melted and broke in a very sweet way.”

The “Rollercoaster” singer and the Golden Globe-nominated actress said “I do” in his native New Jersey on Aug. 19. They tied the knot at a star-studded ceremony and celebrated at a post-wedding party — also attended by Qualley’s mother Andie MacDowell and sister Rainey Qualley. At the reception, Antonoff wore a black suit and tie and Qualley was dressed in a custom white Chanel halter wedding dress and matching white custom Chanel Mary Jane flats.

The couple began dating in summer 2021 and became engaged in May 2022.

The newlyweds appeared to be in a blissful honeymoon phase when they were photographed for the first time after the wedding on a stroll in New York City in late August.

In early October, Antonoff continued celebrating his new bride by joining his longtime collaborator Lana Del Rey, 38, at All Things Go music festival for the debut performance of their song “Margaret,” written about Qualley. The Sanctuary star was in attendance, watching the two sing the sweet love song from the front row.

2023 continues to be a big year for Antonoff. Not only did he get married and win producer of the year at the Grammy Awards in February, he’s gearing up to release new music with his band Bleachers.

In September, the indie rock group released “Modern Girl,” the first single off their forthcoming fourth studio album.
