Lil Baby rang in his 29th birthday with a major celebration and invited some elite names to help him celebrate. On Wednesday (Dec. 27), the platinum rapper held his Lil Baby And Friends homecoming show Atlanta. On top of a stellar night performing his own hits, he treated attendees to a surprise appearance from J. Cole.

Although the two only have one official collaboration together — “p r i d e . i s . t h e . d e v i l” from Cole’s The Off Season LP — the North Carolina-raised spitter had plenty of tricks up his sleeve to win the crowd over. After embracing the headliner, Cole delivered energetic renditions of “No Role Modelz” and his Revenge Of The Dreamers III standout, “Middle Child.”

J. Cole had an active 2023, locking in a major collaboration with Drake, “First Person Shooter,” which at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Shortly afterward, he earned 27 new RIAA certifications within his extensive catalogue, with six new Gold plaques and the rest Platinum. The new batch encompassed songs from all over his catalogue, including fan-favorites from KOD and The Off Season.

Additional highlights include 4 Your Eyez Only going 2x Platinum, 2014’s Forest Hills Drive going 5x Platinum, and loosies like “Snow On Tha Bluff” and “Album Of The Year (Freestyle)” going Gold.

The appearance at Lil Baby’s concert was likely Cole practicing his performance skills, as he is set to hit the road with Drake at the top of 2024. The joint Big As The What? Tour, which is an extension of Drizzy’s It’s All A Blur Tour, kicks off on Jan. 18 at the Ball Arena in Denver, CO. The “Jodeci” duo will then hit cities across the States, including New Orleans, Memphis, Tampa, Pittsburgh, Buffalo.
