Domani Harris received a surprise phone call from a musician who he says turned him down to collaborate on several occasions, and the call was actually to show respect for the his new project.
Domani, who is the son of legendary rapper Tip "T.I." Harris, got a phone call from J. Cole who reached out to let him know how impressed he was with the young star.
"Amazing bro...I feel like I know you after listening to that" J Cole said on the call.
He continued, "I feel like you delivered a classic...I'm highly impressed."
It's an interesting call, because in one of Domani's previous records he mentioned in the lyrics that J. Cole turned him down after Harris attempted to work on a track together.
In Domani's hit "Forever" he featured the following lyrics, "What I’d go through to get where I’m goin...Cole turned me down 3 times but I know where I’m goin...He lucky I don't hold it against him."
But it seems J. Cole realized how impressive the young man as an artist, and decided to reach out to show some love.
"You did your thing bro your...project is f***ing amazing...you fans are going to listen to that for decades," Cole said on the call.
Domani, who has been compared to a young J. Cole, has put out several hit records including his album, 'Time Will Tell' that continue to climb the hip-hop charts.
It seems Domani’s fans can expect even more great things from the rapper in the near future.
Fingers crossed that J. Cole and Domani may actually put out a collab after all.
