Ivar is a massive fan of Vikings, and it shows.

The Viking Raiders member has had an impressive singles run in recent months. Erik‘s injury and Valhalla leaving for maternity leave has left him on his own in WWE. He wrestled singles matches on a regular basis during this time. Ivar has impressed in these matches greatly, showing a new side to himself in WWE.

He moves incredibly well for a man his size. Ivar’s moonsault from the top rope is a sight to behold. Very few big men in history have moved as well as he does, and it could signal a big future for the Viking.

Ivar spoke with TVInsider about his gimmick. He spoke about being part of the Viking Raiders and how interested he is in vikings as a whole. The WWE star noted that he watches “every Viking movie and TV show”, using it as inspiration for his character. He enjoys the uniqueness of the character, which helps him and Erik stand out in WWE.

Ivar also noted that he is one of the few “gimmicks” in the WWE. This helps him stand out, and is something fun that he can work on in the ring.

“We watch every Viking movie and TV show that comes out. Just to be able to create and expand on what we see. We want to take things we see and morph them into whatever we want it to be for our characters. A lot of people may hate it. But it’s cool to us that we have this gimmick and nobody else does. We are the sole gimmick in WWE right now really. So it’s fun to play with that and do Viking things.”
