Ever since Donald Trump left the White House in January 2021, Ivanka Trump hasn’t been as close to her father. While the move was likely a breather after the tumultuous events on Jan. 6, she never returned to the former president’s inner circle — and now, legal insiders might know the reason why.

Donald Trump’s business fraud civil case in New York City is already underway and the witness list for the New York Attorney General has a curious name on it: Ivanka Trump. According to a Newsweek legal source that notable name on the witness list “usually indicates some form of cooperation.” Ivanka was able to exit the lawsuit last year because the time period that is named in the case was during her stint in Washington, D.C. But we can’t rule out that Trump may have told his daughter: ‘Do what you’ve got to do.'” Donald Trump is about to find out what it means to have his daughter testify against him with possible incriminating evidence. It’s a situation no one probably wants to be in, but it likely explains Ivanka’s distance from her family.
