When Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner packed up their Washington, D.C. home in January 2021 and moved to Miami, Florida, it wasn’t a temporary relocation. They, and their three kids daughter Arabella, 13, and sons Joseph, 9, and Theodore, 7, aren’t budging from their beachside community if Donald Trump wins a second term in office. Let’s just say they’ve quit politics for good.

A source close to Ivanka updated People on what’s happening behind the scenes with Donald Trump, the presumptive Republican Party nominee for president. “She is very happy, living her best life,” they revealed. “She left politics totally in the rearview mirror and so this time around, even if her dad is the leading Republican candidate, she basically doesn’t care.” The former first daughter was firm in her November 2022 statement that another presidential campaign was not part of her and Kushner’s long-term plans. “She told him when he said he was going to run again that she didn’t want to be involved,” the insider added.

WASHINGTON, DC – JANUARY 31: US President Donald Trump and Senior Advisor to President Trump, Ivanka Trump participate in the “White House Summit on Human Trafficking: The 20th Anniversary of the Trafficking Victims Protection Act of 2000” event in the East Room of the White House on January 31, 2020 in Washington, DC.

The pal’s insight reflects what Ivanka told voters when her dad announced his third run for president. “I love my father very much,” her statement read. “This time around, I am choosing to prioritize my young children and the private life we are creating as a family.” Ivanka and Kushner’s participation in Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign, and his subsequent administration, left them on the outs with their Manhattan socialite circle. In Miami, they can make a fresh start with other South Florida elites, who are welcoming them to the fold.

After being a “good daughter” and supporting her father, Ivanka has reportedly “had enough.” The insider added, “She’s never going to be in politics again. It’s a hard position for her: she doesn’t agree with everything [President Trump] says, but she doesn’t want to publicly disagree with him, so she just wants to stay out of it at this stage.” Ivanka was roped into several of Donald Trump’s criminal and civil cases — she was able to get out of the $250 million New York business fraud suit, but will likely have to testify in his Jan. 6, 2021, election interference case, which is on indefinite hold, per NBC News.

Ivanka is keeping her schedule busy on the social scene and doing her best “to separate herself from his scandals,” according to a second People source. She’s doing that by taking a page out of stepmother Melania Trump’s playbook, preferring to “pick and choose the family gatherings she attends, like Melania does.” That means that Ivanka, Kushner, and their children will stay away from most 2024 Donald Trump events if they involve even the slightest hint of politics.
