Trash talk was the name of the game in our Call of Duty tournament, ITK Bowl 202
The ITK Bowl 2021 was a Call of Duty tournament where NFL pros were paired with Call of Duty pros gunning. The competition was fierce, and naturally, so was the trash talk.
Josiah “Slacked” Berry of the Florida Mutineers issued this bold call-out during his pre-game interview with Kay Adams.
“Got more championships than all my teammates,” Slacked declared to In The Know. “I’m about to add another one after we’re done with this.”
Slacked and his partner Justin Jefferson of the Minnesota Vikings went on to win the $10,000 grand prize for charity, sponsored by Malka Sports. Jefferson said he’d donate his winnings to No Kid Hungry, a non-profit dedicated to ending child hunger in the United States.
Mark Ingram II, a free agent who recently played for the Baltimore Ravens, was prepared to style on all his peers.
“Tuck ‘em in, put ‘em night night,” Ingram said before the game. Unfortunately, Ingram got eliminated without scoring a single kill. Ouch.
Once the event got started, the trash talk began flowing freely kill after kill.
“I’m on a ten, Jarvis!” Chase Claypool of the Pittsburgh Steelers yelled, calling out Jarvis Landry of the Cleveland Browns. “I’m on your a**!”
Twitch streamer Bobby Poff brought some edifying commentary to the tournament with his praise. During his match-up with Team Neptune, Poff curbed the trash talk and put some respect on Travis “Neptune” McCloud II’s name.
“This guy [Neptune] is f****** twisted, bro,” Poff told his teammate Sebastian Joseph-Day of the Los Angeles Rams. “This guy gets paid the big bucks, dude.”
Neptune and Landry both indeed proved why they get paid the big bucks when they moved onto the finals against Slacked and Justin Jefferson. In the grand finals, Slacked made good on his promise to add yet another championship under his belt as he and Jefferson cinched an easy 2-0 victory.
“What’d I tell you in that interview, boy?” Slacked boasted. “We winnin’, man. Come on.”
