“Mascarpone” (pictured), which premiered in Italy on Amazon Prime Video in June, is about Antonio, a 30-something family man, whose life is upended when he’s suddenly dumped by his husband, on whom he depends both psychologically and economically. He winds up living in a rented room and working in a bakery, while also attending pastry school, and in the process realizes he was wrong to have given up his independence during his past relationship. The film was produced by Rufus Film.

At the Cannes market, Uncork’d Entertainment also acquired North American rights from Vision to new Italian chiller “They Talk,” directed by Giorgio Bruno, which Vision Distribution will release in Italian theaters on July 28.

“They Talk,” which is co-produced by Bartlebyfilm, PFA Films and Vision, turns on a sound engineer named Alex, who accidentally records mysterious voices that are disturbing messages from the afterlife warning him against an imminent danger.

Vision Distribution, which is headed by veteran sales agent Catia Rossi, also sealed a deal for Latin America with Sun Distribution Group for “All For Uma,” a pic directed by Susy Laude and co-produced by Cameleo Film, Elly Films and Vision, in which the titular character endeavors to resolve the problems of an all-male household and their financially ailing winery.

Talks are advanced for additional “Uma” sales to China, Russia and Eastern Europe, according to Vision, which is jointly operated by pay-TV operator Sky Italia and five prominent Italian production companies.
