Italy prepares new military aid package for Ukraine, likely including SAMP-T air defense

The announcement was reported by Italian news agency ANSA on May 30, and most likely means that Ukraine can expect to receive another SAMP-T anti-air system.

What exactly will be included in the aid package for Ukraine has not yet been disclosed.
However, Italian news outlet Il Messaggero reported that the necessity of strengthening Ukraine's air defense was discussed during the most recent meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, commonly known as Ramstein format.

According to the report, Italy and France have ordered the delivery of another SAMP-T anti-missile system and are involved in training Ukrainian soldiers.
On Feb. 21, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni announced the transfer of a sixth military aid package to Ukraine, which included a SAMP-T air defense system and Skyguard and Spike flak complexes.
