Police in Istanbul intervened in a banned Pride parade in the city on June 26, dispersing the crowd with tear gas and detaining several people, including an Agence France Presse (AFP) photographer.
This footage, posted on Instagram by Koray Kesik, shows one person on the ground and police on the scene. Further footage shows scuffling and people being led away.
Around 20 people were detained, local reports said. Among them was AFP photographer Bulent Kilic, Reporters Without Borders said.
In an Instagram post, Kilic described being “beaten” by police, and said he had difficulty breathing while being held down. Credit: Koray Kesik via Storyful
