Oct. 25—Marco Delvecchio never wanted his love life to be played out on TV.

Yet, the model, comedian, podcast host and actor took a chance with reality TV when he joined the cast of "FBoy Island."

"To be honest, I got hit up in my DM's by the casting company," he says. "I had just gotten out of a relationship, and I was going on the show to find romance."

"FBoy Island" follows three women who move to a tropical paradise where they're joined by 26 men — 13 self-proclaimed "Nice Guys" looking for love, and 13 self-proclaimed "Lotharios," there to compete for cold, hard cash.

The women will navigate the dating pool together with the hope of finding a lasting love connection.

By the finale, all will be revealed: who is a Nice Guy, who isn't, who the women ultimately choose, and who walks away with the prize money.

The series is in its third season, which is airing at 7 p.m. Monday on The CW.

Delvecchio says the experience was super nice with production and crew.

He says it was tough at first when arriving on the island.

"We didn't have our phones for a month," he says. "It took a toll on you mentally. Reality TV is a lot of hurry up and wait. My favorite part was hanging with the guys because I spent more time with them than I did with the women. We only saw the ladies for a couple hours. During the day, all of us guys would talk. What's great is no one really knew if we were the nice guys or the Fboy."

Since the men couldn't reveal their status on the show, Delvecchio says each one of them kind of played detective by trying to figure it out.

"It didn't work," he says. "All I can say is that I made some amazing friends along the way."

Delvecchio was born in Providence, Rhode Island, to an Italian American family of all sisters, which meant he was taught from a young age to respect women.

Throughout his school years, he was a skilled athlete playing football as well as a social butterfly.

He attended Brown University and was cast in the school's production of "Legally Blonde," where he fell in love with acting.

He moved to Los Angeles shortly after and began booking acting and modeling gigs — including a speaking role in Camila Cabello's music video "Havana" which has over 1 billion views on YouTube.

In addition to his modeling and acting work, he has been making a name for himself as a comedian on the comedy club circuit, and hosts the comedy podcast "Until the Last Drop," an unfiltered, no-holds-barred podcast which he records at the legendary Barney's Beanery.

"I wanted to start the podcast to talk to my funny and famous friends," he says. "Most of the guests that come on my show are doing it mainly to just chat with me. I like to create a fun and safe environment. My ultimate goal is to be a night show host or host like Mario Lopez. I like to see other people have fun. I want to be that show that creates happiness in people's lives."

While audiences will have to wait to find out the outcome of "FBoy Island," Delvecchio says it was a great experience which he learned from.

"I opened myself up to this show to get the best experience I could," he says. "It was fun and I can't wait to see how it all turns out."
