Isla Fisher

After sharing the shocking news in April that she and her husband, Sacha Baron Cohen, were getting a divorce after 13 years of marriage, Isla Fisher finally broke her silence to share a sweet message with her supporters.

Fisher took to her Instagram Stories on Tuesday, May 14, to post a photo of herself sitting in the sun and smiling at the camera, with a glass of wine visible on the table in front of her. On top of the image, the actress wrote a simple note to everyone that said, "Thank you for all your kindness and support 😘."

The new message shared on social media is the first time Fisher has publicly addressed the situation since announcing her divorce. On April 5, both Fisher and Cohen posted a joint message on their accounts that read, "After a long tennis match lasting over twenty years, we are finally putting our racquets down. In 2023 we jointly filed to end our marriage," over an older photo of the couple posing while dressed in tennis outfits.

Fisher and Cohen cited privacy as they noted that they've been "quietly working through this change" before adding, "We forever share in our devotion and love for our children." The two share two daughters, Olive and Elula, and a son named Montgomery.

The couple reportedly first met at a party in 2001, dating for a few years before they got engaged in 2004. They welcomed their first daughter in 2007. Fisher and Cohen finally tied the knot in Paris in 2010 before welcoming their two other children in the years since. They have always been quite private about their personal lives, keeping their kids out of the spotlight.

The news of the couple's divorce came out around the same time that Cohen faced controversy for claims from Rebel Wilson about her negative experience filming the 2016 movie The Brothers Grimsby with him, which he has denied.
