IRS Still Trying to Collect From Dead Actor Verne Troyer

The IRS does not care that actor Verne Troyer has been dead for over a year, they still want their money.

According to legal documents obtained by The Blast, the IRS filed a creditor's claim in Troyer's probate case in Los Angeles County Court, asking for his estate to pay $41,426.88 as soon as possible.

The feds claim the money is owed for several years of income taxes, here is the breakdown of the amounts per tax year:

2005 - $2,855.53
2008 - $3,550.91
2010 - $2,076.33
2017 - $19,612.64

The docs make it clear that if the money is not paid by someone by July 30, 2020, the amount owed will start going up based on interest.

As far as how serious they are in collecting this money, the document states, "Said debt has priority and must be paid in full in advance of distribution to creditors as and to the extent provided by laws."

This isn't the first time the government has asked for money from Verne Troyer's estate.

As The Blast first reported, the Franchise Tax Board of the State of California filed a tax lien against the "Austin Powers" star back in 2018, claiming he Troyer $22,224.70 in back taxes stemming from the years 2004 and 2005.

After Troyer passed away, they filed another creditor's claim for $70,673.86 for 2013.

Verne Troyer died on April 21, 2018 at the age of 49.

At the time, his family released a statement saying, "Depression and Suicide are very serious issues. You never know what kind of battle someone is going through inside. Be kind to one another. And always know, it’s never too late to reach out to someone for help."

Verne Troyer called 911 in the days before his death telling dispatchers he “wanted to die.”

Troyer was hospitalized and placed on life support. Unfortunately, he never recovered and passed away.
