An Irish toast ... or two or three

Mar. 15—You won't have a chance to kiss the Blarney Stone, but you will find a few ways to celebrate St. Patrick's Day here in Santa Fe.

Nuckolls Brewing Company (nuckollsbrewing.com) in the Railyard will have an all-day St. Paddy's celebration on Sunday, March 17, with live music starting at 11:30 a.m. and lasting until 8:30 p.m. Nuckolls will serve $5 pretzels and $5 Irish Blonde and Irish Red ales all day.

Second Street Brewery (secondstreetbrewery.com) will celebrate St. Patrick's Day with a special menu featuring lamb stew and corned beef and cabbage at both the Railyard and Rufina Street locations on Saturday, March 16, and Sunday, March 17. The Rufina Street location will host a performance by the Albuquerque & 4 Corners Pipes and Drums Band on Sunday.

Maybe you'd like some scenery to go with your St. Patrick's Day. In that case, you can take Sky Railway's St. Patrick's Day Train ($109, skyrailway.com). The 2.5-hour journey is filled with food and drink and incredible views of the landscape.

If you like getting your hands dirty, you can take a St. Patrick's Day Cooking Class at the Santa Fe School of Cooking ($124, santafeschoolofcooking.com) on March 17. You'll learn how to make specialties such as soda bread with whiskey fondue and potato pie with stewed lamb and vegetables and red wine gravy; you'll get to eat them too.
