Irish dance and traditional Christmas classics come alive in 'Christmas in Killarney'
BENTON HARBOR — Lake Michigan College’s Mendel Center presents “Christmas in Killarney: An Irish Christmas Celebration” at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 8 at 2755 E. Napier Ave.
Created by the 2009 World Champion of Irish Dance, Scott Doherty, and worldwide touring Irish musician Chris Smith, “Christmas in Killarney” combines the excitement of Irish dance with the harmonies of traditional Christmas classics.
The Irish village of Killarney comes alive in the 1920s with Irish dancing, classic Christmas songs, and a heartwarming story about love, family and tradition during this spirited stage production.
Songs include “Joy to the World,” “Hark the Herald Angels,” “Oh, Holy Night,” “Sleigh Ride” and more.
A special holiday mix of Mendel Center Wassail, made with Lake Michigan Vintners cider, will be available at the cash bar.
Tickets are $80-$35.
