Iowa native Hailey Whitters is opening for country star Jason Aldean.

Whitters, who hails from Shueyville, will open for the country crooner on his 2024 Highway Desperado tour. The rising country star presented at the CMA Awards in early November and was nominated for Best New Artist.

Whitters last performed to a home-state crowd during her own 2023 tour at Wooly's in Des Moines' Historic East Village in April.

Aldean himself has connections to Iowa. He performed on the final day of the 2023 Iowa State Fair, where he shouted out his touring guitarist Kurt Allison. Allison is originally from the south side of Des Moines.

Allison was one of four co-writers who penned "Try That In A Small Town," Aldean's controversial country single that drew heat from critics over the summer for its political themes.

Whitters will perform at around a dozen dates through the summer and fall.

Tickets will go on sale on Friday, Dec. 1. There are no dates in Iowa at the original time of publication.

Aldean's closest performance is in East Troy, Wisconsin outside of Madison in August, but Whitters is not expected to perform at that show.
