Former WOI news reporter Nora J.S. Reichardt is trading the capital city for the Quad Cities.

Iowa's first openly transgender TV reporter, and one of a few around the nation, left WOI last month. Her new role is a digital position at Moline-based ABC affiliate WQAD in the Quad Cities, according to a social media statement posted Monday.

"I've been enjoying my brief step back from bringing Iowans the news of the day, but I'm feeling ready to get back into the action," Reichardt posted on X.

Reichardt said she is excited to learn more about eastern Iowa, neighboring Illinois and explore more of the region's LGBTQ community.

"Iowans, thanks for having me. Hope you're willing to put up with me just a little longer! Can't wait to see what's next," Reichardt said in a follow up X statement. She added black and yellow heart emojis.

The Drake University alum moved to Des Moines in 2017 for her freshman year of college. She first joined WOI in July 2021. In October of last year, the Minnesota native publicly introduced herself to viewers during an on-air broadcast.
