Iowa couples to appear on 'Love During Lockup' reality show featuring prison love stories

Iowa couples are falling in "Love During Lockup."

The We TV "Love After Lockup" spinoff series features couples known as "non-cons" who fall in love with people serving prison sentences. The reality show will return July 21 with eight hourlong episodes.

Two of the six couples featured in the upcoming season hail from Iowa.

Davenport-based duo LaTisha and Keith are the first pair of Iowans featured on the show's upcoming season. LaTisha, a divorcée and mom of two, shocked her friends and employees when they discovered she was dating Keith.

"At first, LaTisha was skeptical, and her intention was only to be Keith’s pen-pal, but eventually Keith won her over. Will they withstand life’s challenges?" the press release stated.

Iowa City couple Savannah and Jake's connection formed after Savannah reached out to prison wives on Facebook to prepare for a theatre role and was introduced to Jake. After the pair exchanged messages, they realized they had a deeper connection. Since then, Savannah became a prison reform advocate.

"Jake has real concerns about Savannah’s jealousy and neediness as he serves the remainder of his sentence. The separation is getting to the pair as they both battle trust issues. Will they trust each other enough to make it another five years?" the press release said.

"Love During Lockup" premieres at 8 p.m. on July 21 on We TV. Episodes are also available on the AMC streaming service Allblk on Tuesdays.
