Investigators have searched a New Hampshire home where a missing girl’s father and stepmother previously lived in their ongoing quest to find out what happened to the child.

New Hampshire Attorney General John Formella announced in a Tuesday press release that local and federal authorities are searching “644 Union Street in Manchester, New Hampshire, for the continued investigation of the disappearance of then 5-year-old Harmony Montgomery in 2019. " Her father and stepmother, Adam and Kayla Montgomery, had once lived in the home.

Due to the ongoing investigation, no additional information will be released at this time,” officials stated on Tuesday.

FBI agents in coveralls have been spotted working on the second floor of the apartment building, WCVB reports. The outlet reported that investigators appeared to be carrying interior surfaces out of the home, and spotted officials removing a refrigerator.

A Hillsborough County grand jury indicted both Adam Montgomery, 30, and Kayla Montgomery, 31, in 2021 in connection with Harmony Montgomery's care but not with her disappearance.

Adam Montgomery was indicted on a felony charge of second-degree assault for allegedly striking his daughter in the face in July 2019. He was also arrested on two charges of endangering the welfare of a child. Meanwhile, Kayla Montgomery, who is now estranged from Adam, was cited on a felony charge of theft by deception for allegedly lying to the Health Department about the child being in her home from November 2019 to June 2, 2021, so that she could receive food stamp benefits.

Adam and Kayla Montgomery have pleaded not guilty to their respective charges and both have claimed that Harmony was living with her mother, Crystal Sorey, when she vanished. Sorey has denied that.

Harmony Montgomery hasn't been seen since late 2019, but she was not reported missing until late last year when Sorey filed the report. Adam Montgomery had been given custody of the girl while Sorey was in drug treatment in 2018, after which he allegedly cut the child off from her mother.

Adam Montgomery's most recent girlfriend, Kelsey Small, 27, was found dead on March 13 at a hotel in New Hampshire; her death is not considered suspicious.

Since then, Kayla Montgomery has been charged with two felony counts of perjury for allegedly lying to a grand jury about the circumstances surrounding her employment around the time that her stepdaughter was last seen. Meanwhile, Adam Montgomery has since been hit with gun charges for an alleged incident that has no apparent connection to the case.
