Introducing SpongeBob De Niro
Sure, SpongeBob SquarePants is the sweetest guy in all of Bikini Bottom. That has been well established in the 15 years since the animated sensation debuted on Nickelodeon. But SpongeBob has a secret scary side, too. Or at least a thing for screen legend Robert De Niro, known for playing many of the most menacing characters in movie history.
Tom Kenny, the voice actor behind our li’l yellow friend, redubbed famous De Niro scenes from Taxi Driver, Goodfellas, Cape Fear, and more in the new Yahoo Movies segment, SpongeBob De Niro, which you can watch above.
SpongeBob, like De Niro, is also a star of the silver screen. His second celluloid adventure, The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water (and first since 2004’s The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie) hits theaters everywhere on Friday. We promise he does not play a mobster or sociopath in that one.
