Intense Storm, Packing Damaging Hail, Blasts South Dakota Gas Station

An intense storm, packing large, damaging hail, blasted a gas station and cars parked there in Belle Fourche, South Dakota, on June 12, with storm chaser Kaleb Kurtz on hand to record this dramatic footage.

Kurtz recorded the “incredible storm” as it smashed car windows with “golf ball-sized hail” blown by powerful winds.

The National Weather Service was warning of softball-sized hail and winds up to 70 mph at the time. Credit: Kaleb Kurtz via Storyful
