Insider Reveals How Joe Jonas’s Family Really Felt About Sophie Turner Before Their Divorce

Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner, the Hollywood couple that said “I do” as Diplo live-streamed their wedding from Las Vegas, shocked fans when they announced they were separating after four years of marriage last week. Like many fans, it turns out that some people in Jonas’ life were rooting for them long before their surprising divorce hit the headlines.

According to a source close to the “Cake by the Ocean” singer, Jonas’ family was really “pulling for” Turner and Jonas.

“The family loves her and the love she has for those girls,” the source told Page Six. Jonas and Turner share two daughters: Willa, 3, and a second daughter only publicly known as “D,” 14 months.

“It wasn’t working anymore. It happens,” the source told the outlet. “Joe has to do what he has to do, and same goes for Soph. Only they know what’s best for them and their family.” Previously, another source revealed that Jonas “never wanted to break up his family,” but ultimately had to do “what he felt was the best course of action for his girls. An unhappy home isn’t a home, and the truth is he and Sophie were going through it this year.”

The source’s claim is refreshing as the two’s divorce hit headlines, some of which painted Turner as an absentee mother as the two went through it. While the couple has not made any official comments to media outlets, Turner posted a statement that she said was from both of them on her Instagram.

“After four wonderful years of marriage we have mutually decided to amicably end our marriage,” the statement, posted September 6, reads. “There are many speculative narratives as to why but, truly this is a united decision and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our privacy for us and our children.”

Still, it is worth noting that Jonas himself has remained relatively quiet about the impending divorce and wasn’t tagged in the post. Some fans thought he was subtly throwing shade at his soon-to-be-ex during a recent Jonas Brothers concert at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.

“It’s been a crazy week,” he said. “I just want to say, if you don’t hear it from these lips, don’t believe it. Okay? Thank you, everyone, for the love and support to me and my family. I love you guys.”

Whatever the situation, we hope that the two are able to make it through this divorce in a way that worrks out for everyone, even if it is tough.
