Heather Dubrow and Dr. Terry Dubrow’s eldest children, twins Max and Nick, moved out of the house for college at the beginning of The Real Housewives of Orange County Season 17, and on the latest episode of the show, the couple revealed that they were interested in making a move of their own.

Read on for details.

Heather and Terry Dubrow’s Los Angeles Apartment

The Dubrows bought a “love shack” in the form of a penthouse apartment in L.A. last year, and on Episode 9 of RHOC Season 17, which aired on August 2, Heather told Tamra Judge and Jennifer Pedranti about the then-pending purchase. “I’m crazed right now because I told you we’re in escrow on this place in L.A.,” Heather said. “I’m excited.”

She then clarified that she and Terry aren’t “moving-moving,” as Jennifer put it. “It’s not big enough for us to move to,” Heather explained. “I was thinking of it more as like a pied-à-terre for me and Terry. A little place to hang your hat.”

What’s more, “This penthouse represents the first step back to a career in Hollywood,” Heather said, referencing her plans to revive her acting career. “Orange County — sun, surf, sand, amazing. Auditions? Not so much.”

Heather and Terry Dubrow’s Thoughts on Selling “the Dubrow Chateau”

Heather and Terry didn’t buy the L.A. apartment in anticipation of selling their longtime Orange County residence, but the timing of everything certainly worked in their favor — and it’s all thanks to Million Dollar Listing Los AngelesJosh Altman.

As Heather explained in a confessional interview, “Our house isn’t on the market, but we got a cold call from Josh Altman to potentially sell our house.”

The RHOC cameras then flashed to Heather and Terry in the car as they spoke to Josh on the phone. “There’s this family that’s looking around. They are heavy, heavy hitters,” Josh told the couple. “Do you want to sell your house? Because, I mean, I would ask 65 million bucks.”

Suffice to say, Heather and Terry were thrilled — and not just because of the aforementioned price tag. “To me, this house represents a job I don’t want anymore,” Heather told her husband. “And I know this sounds obnoxious and I don’t mean it to sound ungrateful, but I just don’t want to be the [general manager]… I’d like to have less maintenance and less jobs I have to do and more things that I’m excited about. I’m ready for all of that.”

Heather continued, “I’m seeing the other end of it and I get it, and I know even though they’re always gonna be our kids and always gonna be a priority, at the end of the day…”

“It’s just you and me,” Terry finished.

The two got emotional from there, with Heather noting in a confessional, “We’ve built so much together over the last three decades. Selling the house, yeah, it’s a sh-t ton of money, yes. But more than that, it really signifies, like, our next chapter — yeah, as a family, but also as a couple. It’s so cool.”

Terry agreed, telling his wife, “Thank you for this home, and thank you so much for this next step, because this next step is gonna be a good one.”
