Inside the Baby2Baby Gala with Salma Hayek Pinault and Snoop Dogg

Salma Hayek Pinault accepted Baby2Baby’s Giving Tree Award on Saturday night in Los Angeles in honor of her foundation, which assists battered women and underprivileged children in Mexico.

“Dignity is an essential,” Hayek Pinault said onstage at the Pacific Design Center, delivering remarks from first-hand experience to stress the impact of providing basic essentials to families in need. “Diapers are dignity, make no mistake.”

She concluded her speech by thanking the organization’s supporters: “Everything you donate and everything that Baby2Baby brings – there is an intention, not just money. It is love. It is compassion. It is caring. We are interconnected – baby to baby.”

Channing Tatum presented the prize to his “Magic Mike’s Last Dance” co-star, saluting Baby2Baby for representing every single thing Salma cares about the most – children, babies, moms, and women.

Since its inception, the nonprofit has distributed more than 375 million essential items – including diapers, formula, clothing and cribs — to children living in poverty across the country. “Bottom line, Baby2Baby means business and they know how to get shit done. And this is why I choose to invest,” Kim Kardashian said on stage with fellow “angel” ambassadors Olivia Wilde and Zoe Saldaña.

The star-studded annual gala raised $12 million for children living in poverty, with Julie Bowen and Zooey Deschanel leading the in-person fundraising effort.

To close out the evening, sisters Nicole Richie and Sofia Richie Grainge introduced a set from Snoop Dogg — who rapped some of his biggest hits, including “Nuthin’ but a ‘G’ Thang,” “Gin & Juice,” “Beautiful,” “Drop It Like It’s Hot,” “I Wanna Love You,” “The Next Episode” and “Young, Wild & Free.”

In acknowledgement of the performance, Baby2Baby will provide nearly 300,000 essential items to the Snoop Youth Football and Basketball Leagues and Snoop Special Stars. These two organizations help thousands of inner-city children across L.A. participate in youth football, youth basketball and cheerleading.
