‘Inside Amy Schumer’ Turns Season Finale into ‘Real Housewives’ Reunion Parody
The king of Bravo, Andy Cohen, helped out Amy Schumer during her Inside Amy Schumer finale. They turned what could’ve been a boring clip recap into a Real Housewives reunion parody. Every member of the cast turned out and portrayed over-exaggerated versions of Real Housewives characters.
The faux reunion featured all the staples of a Real Housewives affair. There was shameless self-promotion, fights that started over nothing and ended with nothing, and biting commentary from morally questionable significant others. And since Andy Cohen has done a lot of these reunion shows, he had his canned transitions down to a science.
The clips themselves were never really the focal point of the finale, only serving as the vehicle for the ridiculousness of the characters. But no Real Housewives event can thoughtfully conclude without people pretending that they care about each other, so Schumer and her sister Kim Caramele kissed and made up, and hit on Cohen.
