HBO announced that the final season of “Insecure” will premiere on Oct. 24 and released a first look at the season.

“I keep frontin’ everybody like I’m not scared about what’s next for me, but I am terrified,” Issa Rae’s character Issa says in a teaser, which you can watch below.

The comedy follows the trials, heartaches and twists of L.A.-based Issa and those closest to her as they navigate love, life, friendship and adapting to newfound responsibilities in their 30s.

Viewers last saw Issa and Lawrence (Jay Ellis) attempting to reconcile, but things got messy when his other ex, Condola (Christina Elmore), told him she was pregnant and planning on keeping the baby. Issa and Molly’s (Yvonne Orji) friendship was strained, while Molly’s relationship with Andrew (Alexander Hodge) came to an end. And Tiffany (Amanda Seales) ran away from home — causing the whole gang to search for her.

“Insecure” was created by Rae and Larry Wilmore. It is executive produced by Rae, Prentice Penny, Melina Matsoukas, Michael Rotenberg, Dave Becky, Jonathan Berry, Amy Aniobi and Jim Kleverweis. Natasha Rothwell and Courtney Taylor also star.

FIRST LOOKS

Variety has exclusively obtained a clip from “Untold: Breaking Point,” which premieres on Sept. 7. As a part of the Netflix series “Untold” about major moments in sports’ history, the film tells the true story of tennis player Mardy Fish and his struggles with a severe anxiety disorder. “Untold” is co-created and executive produced by brothers Chapman and Maclain Way, who also direct “Untold: Breaking Point.” Watch the clip below.

Fox revealed a trailer for “Alter Ego,” premiering Sept. 22 at 9 p.m. The new singing competition features contestants transforming into dream avatars to reinvent themselves and performing via motion capture technology. Alanis Morissette, Nick Lachey, Grimes and will.i.am will judge the competition, with Rocsi Diaz serving as host. In the trailer, Lachey asks contestants why they feel as though they need an alter ego. One masked contestant replies, “There’s something about how I look behind this alter ego that I feel like has held me back.” Once finished performing, contestants reveal their real identities. Paramount Network released trailer for “Yellowstone” Season 4, premiering on Nov. 7. The trailer, which you can watch below, recaps the Dutton family going through turmoil, with John Dutton (Kevin Costner) getting shot, his daughter Beth (Kelly Reilly) having her office firebombed and Kayce (Luke Grimes) overturning his desk for protection as gunmen enter his office. Wes Bentley, Cole Hauser, Kelsey Asbille, Brecken Merrill, Jefferson White, Forrie Smith, Denim Richards and Gil Birmingham also star.

RENEWALS

BET Plus announced that “The Ms. Pat Show” has been renewed for a 10-episode second season. The sitcom, based on Patricia “Ms. Pat” Williams’ standup comedy and her memoir, “Rabbit: The Autobiography of Ms. Pat,” follows a former convicted felon turned suburban mother living with her family and performing stand-up in conservative middle America. Ms. Pat stars alongside J. Bernard Calloway, Tami Roman, Theodore Barnes and Briyana Guadalupe. Executive producers include Ms. Pat, Brian Grazer, Lee Daniels, Pam Williams, Marc Velez, Samie Kim Falvey and Jordan E. Cooper, who also wrote the pilot. Anthony Hill served as the Season 1 showrunner.

Bravo announced that the ninth season of “Vanderpump Rules” will premiere on Sept. 28 at 9 p.m. The reality series follows the dramatic lives of a group of friends who work at the West Hollywood restaurant, Sur, under their owner Lisa Vanderpump. Season 9 follows the staff as they cope through the pandemic, with Vanderpump trying to keep her many businesses afloat and many romantic relationships turning new corners. Returning for Season 9 are Vanderpump, Ariana Madix, Charli Burnett, James Kennedy, Katie Maloney-Schwartz, Lala Kent, Raquel Leviss, Scheana Shay, Tom Sandoval and Tom Schawartz. Brock Davies joins the cast. “Vanderpump Rules” is produced by Evolution Media with Douglas Ross, Alex Baskin, Bill Langworthy, Vanderpump, Ken Todd, Jen McClure-Metz and Natalie Neurauter serving as executive producers.

CASTING

Peacock’s “Queer as Folk” has added Ryan O’Connell as a series regular, co-executive producer and writer. O’Connell will play a pop culture nerd with cerebral palsy who is described as “more than ready for independence” on the reimagining of Russell T. Davies’ 1999 drama of the same title. This new “Queer as Folk” comes from Stephen Dunn and follows a diverse group of friends in New Orleans whose lives are transformed after a tragedy. Series regulars alongside O’Connell are Fin Argus, Candace Grace, Johnny Sibilly and Devin Way. “Queer as Folk” is produced by UCP. The series is created, written and executive produced by Dunn, who will also direct the pilot episode. Additional executive producers include Lee Eisenberg, Emily Brecht, Davies, Nicola Shindler and Richard Halliwell on behalf of NENT Studios U.K., which distributes the format.

EXECUTIVE NEWS

Crown Media Family Networks appointed Lisa Hamilton Daly as executive vice president of programming. In her new position, she will identify, develop, and create content across the Hallmark Channel, Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, Hallmark Drama, Hallmark Movies Now and Hallmark Movies & More. She is also responsible for building on Crown Media’s programming strategy, diversifying the company’s talent pool and continuing the development of current Hallmark IP. Daly is based in the company’s Studio City offices and reports to president and CEO Wonya Lucas. Previously, she served as executive vice president of creative affairs and executive producer at Bedrock Entertainment.
