Injury update: Bennett Williams, CJ Verdell expected to miss time with ‘significant’ injuries

The Ducks lost for the first time against Stanford on Saturday, falling to 4-1 on the season with a harder chance to make the College Football Playoff now.

On top of that, it appears that some significant players for the Ducks have been injured, and are likely to miss some significant time.

It started with starting safety Bennett Williams, who wasn’t present for this game. After the loss, Mario Cristobal said that Williams suffered a “freak injury” at practice yesterday that was non-contact.

During the game, RB CJ Verdell went down with a lower leg injury after a nice three quarters, and he had to be helped off the field and was eventually carted to the locker room.

Cristobal said after the game that there is currently no timetable for either player to return.
