How did you get into basketball? How long have you been playing it?
Growing up I had a basketball hoop in my driveway. And I just liked playing with my dad and my twin brother. Since third grade, so nine years.
What's your favorite movie? And why?
Inception is my favorite movie. I really liked that one with Leonardo DiCaprio. I really like being confused in movies. And that movie really left me with a lot of questions at the end.
What do you love about basketball the most?
I like how basketball is a team and individual sport. It's a team sport. But with there being only five players on the court, everyone is always kind of part of the action. Kind of unlike baseball and stuff where you're going to be a part of the action at some point in the game. But in basketball, you're always going to be there, and if you're not doing your job, then stuff goes wrong.
What lessons have high school sports taught you?
I think especially in high school sports is really how fun it is to be competitive but to also remember you know, everything is not sports, that it's more than that. It's the connections you make with the people in the team, the work ethic you get.
What's the biggest difference between your freshman-year self and now?
I think I'm putting more value in my time and effort into the relationships with the people around me than I was my freshman year.
Who's your favorite basketball player? And why?
There's a bunch of really cool ones, but always looked up to Kobe, you know, work ethic and just his mentality.
What's your idea of a perfect day?
Probably just doing from outside whether it be like hiking, or I love playing basketball outside especially, I know we don't do it enough in sports and stuff, but outdoor basketball is really fun, playing pick up. Or just throwing the football around or just being outside being active.
